Pamela S. Bosch, founder of Highland Hemp House (HHH), will give an overview of her hemp construction project during PDX HempFest June 10 in Portland, Oregon, USA. Bosch, an educator and international lecturer on hempcrete, will relate her experiences obtaining building permits and the challenge of sourcing basic materials for the HHH project, which is getting under way this month. It will use hemp-lime and other natural materials to retrofit her wood-frame home in Bellingham, Washington into an ideal, healthy living space.

Also a writer and artist, Bosch formerly taught at Bellingham Technical College and Northwest Indian College. A member of the Washington State Farm Bureau, Bosch works at the state and federal levels to clear the path in the U.S. for growing, processing and making products from hemp. She is among 17 speakers scheduled to appear at the one-day HempFest, set for the Portland Expo Center.

Other speakers for the one-day event will cover a wide range of topics, including cosmetics, medicine, food, organic cultivation, and various legal aspects of the industry. Also on the program are an investors’ pitch deck forum and an Oregon State Advisory Rules Committee Q&A.
