Oregon’s tireless hemp focused attorney, Courtney Moran, and Earthlaw LLC is leading a new campaign to remove industrial hemp from the Controlled Substances Act. She is circulating this press release to get those who support industrial hemp to sign-on to her petition and her Indiegogo campaign to raise money. So far, they have raised 1,100 dollars, but they need more! Help them reach their goal!
From Courtney (March 31, 2016):
It’s time we take action to re-legalize industrial hemp cultivation for all U.S. farmers, on the federal level.
Congress gave U.S. citizens the right to petition their government to review federal law.
We have the right to petition DEA to remove industrial hemp from the definition of “marihuana” and from the drug Schedules.
We cannot wait for Congress to act, nor should we. The Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2015 is the sixth time a similar piece a legislation has been attempted in Congress. If Congress has not acted to date, it is unlikely they will in a timely manner.
Therefore, I will be filing a formal administrative rulemaking petition to the DEA to remove industrial hemp from the definition of “marihuana” under the Controlled Substances Act.
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO TELL THE DEA, YOU SUPPORT INDUSTRIAL HEMP!
My co-petitioner Andy Kerr and I are seeking funding for our project: The Relegalizing Industrial Hemp Project. A fully-funded petition will successfully result in U.S. farmers having the right
to freely cultivate industrial hemp!
We have launched an Indiegogo campaign to rally the public for support and donations.
By making a donation to the Relegalzing Industrial Hemp Project, you will have the option of INCLUDING YOUR NAME ON THE FORMAL PETITION!
