Who Buys Legal Marijuana in America?: August 21 Infographic

Some statistics are unexpected, though not completely surprising, with 63.4%  of consumers in recreational stores being over 30 years old and the average age 37. Not too surprising, more men than women shopped for cannabis, and an average of over $33.00 bucks was spent per visit by the men, and $35.00  by the women.

What will make Oregon vastly different, in my opinion, is the large number of older cannabis medical patients that have been smoking for years that will now choose to buy recreationally instead of medically. We will also see medical only dispensaries and medical only regions of the state since municipalities were allowed to opt-out if there were opposed to the measure by over 55% in 2014.

I think you will see the true demographic of cannabis become apparent, which is older even than these numbers from ARC View group suggest. You can also find more infographics at Visualistan
